शिशु बोध
अनन्या के मुख का भाव बदला
माँ बनने का बोध दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी ख़ुशी थी उसने जान लिया
शिशु की किलकारी उसके कानों से न छूटती
बार बार अपने आमाशय पर हाथ फेरती
पता था कि अब तक जीव जागृत हुआ तक न होगा
पर हर बार फेरे हुए हाथ को चूमा
जीवन का मानो बदल गया उद्देश्य
अब कोई कमी न रही शेष
“अनन्या, हम इसे नहीं दे सकते जन्म।”
“क्यों नहीं ?” कहा उसे आँखें नम”
बस कह दिया। हर सवाल का जवाब होता नहीं। “
विशन मुख, सख्त आँखें, मौन कर वह चली
बयाँ करना चाहती थी वह पहली बार कि ख़ुशी
पर सुख की बरसात को दुःख का लबादा पहना कर छिप गयी
दवा पीने से पहले, वहीँ फेर फिर से हाथ
मेरी इच्छा मेरी नहीं, तू नहीं यहां किसीको स्वीकार
कहके पिया उसने गूंठ दवा का
बस यही तक का साथ था उसके मातृत्व का

I am sure this poem is very touching. I am reading some of the words used here for the first time… So, I couldn’t understand what exactly happened to her baby.
The poem is on Female foeticide and abortion Sindhu and the pain the mother goes through mentally before giving up on her baby.

I read it…actually I had to ..I wrote a very similar poetry in Bengali, my mother tongue and surprisingly you’ve echoed the same emotions and feelings…perhaps we women feel in the same way regarding some issues …
