Lost Life – Epitaph Poem

sisters

I stood there at the edge of the parapet

My life of 23 years, staring unfulfilled dreams

Loved the zephyr, trees & birds with twigs

Parted loved ones a promise to meet again!

A beautiful soul here lies

Dreams full of bright blue skies

A doting sister, giving daughter she was

She nowhere, her void, her absence now gnaws

It has been years that I lost my sister when she decided to leave us much earlier than her age but I miss her every passing day. Sunday, the 18th was when she chose another abode, hope she keeps her promise and meets us again to never give up on life this time. A Epitaph Poetry in her name.

An epitaph is a brief poem inscribed on a tombstone praising a deceased person, usually with rhyming lines.

  1. It hurts….the loss of siblings…..my brother went away three years back….my writing began much as a response to the void I felt after him….a pain I could not voice….My hugs to you Shweta….I can relate to this….May your sis rest in peace…..
